My thoughts!!!

  • What strategies or tools have you found most effective for stakeholder identification and mapping?

In this module, while most of the case study were insightful and informative, I find the stakeholder mapping matrix very effective as gives a picture of how to balance influence and power among the stakeholders and safeguard their competing interest.

The stakeholder mapping is essential is losing focus from the project goals or objectives and protect each and every stakeholder in the project.

  • How can negotiation and communication skills help manage conflicting interests among stakeholders?

Negotiation helps in managing conflict by ensuring that there is compromise among the stakeholders and a common goal is achieved by removing all the barriers that exist and communication builds trust and enhances transparency among the stakeholders thus making sure that stakeholders are committed to their own goals within the project.

  • What are some best practices for ensuring collaboration remains inclusive and sustainable over time? Can you give any example of such a practice from your community?

Open communication and long-term trust among the stakeholders create harmony and teamwork for the common of the project and helps the project the goals easily. This is achieved through regular stakeholders meeting to provide updates, identify bottlenecks and solutions.

In my community, there is a livelihood project support vulnerable communities and have been running effectively. The project has adopted regular check-in (quarterly) with the stakeholders to provide updates and identify challenges and come up with solutions hence the success of the project.
