Researchers generate knowledge and guide evidence based decision making support the project implementors, the donors and the government to adjust the project based on the evidence generated through research.
The power imbalance exist due to lack of collaboration among stakeholders and failure to integrate local knowledge with scientific and modern knowledge. The local communities end up having no influence in how their perspectives are integrated in the project.
The power and influence is determined by critically analyzing the role of each stakeholder and their ability to make any necessary changes to the project outcome.
