Climate change vulnerabilities
With this module, l have learnt that climate change doesn't only affect the economic side but also the social lives inclusive of the livelihoods anand gender equality. Dhaka, Cox's Bazar and Satkhira in Bangladesh are areas that are prone to flooding, cyclones, heatwave, coastal erosion and salinity just to mention a few. All these are negatively affecting the inhabitants interms of health issues, destruction of infrastructure, and gender inequality whereby females are being harassed by males as a result of drug abuse and overcrowding. Therefore, females are restricted to go to shops, access to education just like boys. There are also facing a waterlogging challenge due to poor drainage and poor sanitation which is caused by having 30-40 households using one toilet per community. Both the government and NGOs must provide medical and clean water support despite of inhabitants having rational cards or low income wages.
