Kenya faces numerous climate change related challenges like floods, drought and occasional wildfires. Drought is the most frequent challenge in arid and semi arid areas. The major communities facing the drought challenge are the pastoralists in North Eastern and Eastern Part oh the country.
The current local coping mechanism adapted include rainwater harvesting, solar powered irrigation farming systems, and planting drought resistant crops. These activities are supported by the Government of Kenya through infrastructure development, installation of policies and the Providence of relief good. Also, international organization such as the World food program offer food and resilience to affected communities.
