SMART Goal

Step 1: General Adaptation Goal

Enhance the resilience of the rural community in northern Bangladesh to frequent flooding.

Step 2: SMART Objective

Construct raised flood-resistant platforms for 100 households and provide training on flood preparedness and crop protection techniques in northern Bangladesh by December 2026.

Peer Feedback Example

If a peer submitted:

"Install community flood barriers in northern Bangladesh to protect homes from flooding."

Feedback:

Specificity: The objective could be more precise by stating how many barriers will be installed and which areas will be targeted.

Measurable: Progress can be tracked by the number of barriers completed and households protected.

Achievability: Consider whether the community and local government have enough resources to build the proposed barriers.

Relevance: The objective aligns well with addressing the main climate risk of flooding.

Time-bound: Adding a completion date would make this a SMART objective.

Suggested revision:

Install 10 community flood barriers in the five most flood-prone villages of northern Bangladesh and train local residents in barrier maintenance by December 2026.
