CBA in my community
Agriculture is the practised economic activity in my community since 100 years now. People grow all kind of crops especially vegetables and tubers dedicated to local food and trade.
Since a decade, a drought phenomenon has occured disavantaging the agricultural habits. The impacts are: lack of food and goods for trading; in one it is accelerating poverty in the community. Knowing that crops cannot grow in drought time, our people in the community have developped an ancestral practice to boost productivity using cow poo.
This practice is amazing and addresses well the problem as it works a natural fertilizer and it does need a large quantity of water.
It used to be applied by our ancestors, but this practice was a little overlooked, but this drought became harder, we went back to our traditionnal values.
It can be integrated in a modern LLA if researches can be conducted to produce this natural fertizer in a larger quantity. Unfortunately, we haven't received any support from policy makers or government even though many procedures were undertaken by my community members.
