Understanding the stakeholders
1. Who Holds the Most Influence
Government of Bangladesh (ministries of Environment, Water Resources, Disaster Management)
International Donor Agencies (UNDP, World Bank, bilateral donors)
2. Who Benefits the Most
Local Communities (fishers, farmers, honey collectors, marginalized groups)
They gain improved coastal protection, restored ecosystems, and diversified livelihood opportunities. Despite low influence, they are the primary beneficiaries of SRP outcomes.
3.Contributions & Dependencies
Governments → Provide authority, regulations, and coordination.
Donors → Enable large-scale restoration and infrastructure through funding.
NGOs/Community Groups → Ensure participation, training, and advocacy.
Communities → Offer traditional knowledge, labor, and stewardship.
Researchers → Supply data and monitoring tools for adaptation planning.
4.Power Imbalances
Decision-making power lies with governments and donors, while communities most affected by climate change have limited influence.
Women, marginalized households, and indigenous forest users are often underrepresented, despite their critical roles and knowledge.
