ACCESS TO ENERGY ( Sdg 7)
South Africa's load shedding (Black outs)
stems from Eskom's aging coal fleet, lack of new generation, poor maintenance, and rising demand, directly contradicting SDG 7's goal for affordable, reliable energy by causing disruptions, hindering development, and increasing costs on everyone businesses, the people especially poor communities. This also influence people to generate fossil fuels the by adding to global warming. Solutions: involve rapidly boosting renewables (solar, wind, battery storage), fixing existing plants, incentivizing private generation, improving efficiency, and better grid management to achieve energy security. But also teaching the people on climate change and simple ways to generate alternative energy with out spending much but by manufacturing it through recycling waste like Biogas, solar ovens etc...
