Comparison with Bangladesh
The case study from the Philippines is very similar to the situation in Bangladesh. Both countries face natural disasters like cyclone,floods,strom surges very often due to climate change.
In Bangladesh coastal areas such as Khulna, Satkhira and Barguna are most affected. People living there often lose homes and income. Fishing community and farmer community suffers most due to scarcity of natural resources on which they are mostly dependent.
Like Philippines, people in Bangladesh use mangroves, raised houses,cyclone shelters and early warnings to reduce damage.
The government and NGOs help the communities by food,closth,medicine and giveing training also.
