ERATIC RAINFALL

In Namutumba District, Uganda, climate change is having a significant impact on local communities. One major issue is erratic rainfall, which is disrupting traditional subsistence farming. This has led to crop failures, food insecurity, and economic losses for many families


Challenges:


- Food Insecurity: Reduced crop yields and failed harvests are leaving many families without enough food.

- Water Scarcity: Changes in rainfall patterns are affecting water sources, making it harder for people to access clean water.

- Loss of Livelihoods: Farmers are struggling to maintain their livelihoods due to unpredictable weather conditions.


Adaptation Efforts being made to over come that catastrophe are

farmers getting another alternative Livelihoods such as fish farming, beekeeping, and dairy farming.

practicing Climate-Smart Agriculture: Farmers are being trained in climate-resilient agricultural practices, such as using drought-tolerant crop varieties and improving soil conservation.
