Accumulated Waste and Pollution.

In my community, which is along a railway line, we have poor waste management which creates a cycle with climate change: the waste release methane, while extreme weather like floods spread pollution further.

I believe this causes health problems like (respiratory issues, cholera, poisoning from toxins like lead/plastics), especially for children, women, and low-income families. Which also leads to more disease outbreaks during floods, and reduced well-being.

In addition, the waste blocks drains, causing floods that erode tracks, corrode rails, and risk derailments. Heavy rains worsened by climate change make damage faster, disrupting transport and increasing safety hazards.

Further, pollutants contaminate soil and water, making farmland less fertile and crops/livestock unsafe. The droughts we experienced past few years (linked to climate change) make farmers use polluted water, worsening the problem.

In conclusion, I feel, this pollution hits vulnerable youth and communities hardest, deepening poverty and vulnerability.
