Climate change has significantly affected Dutse in Jigawa State by increasing the frequency of extreme weather events such as heavy floods, which disrupt farming activities—the main source of livelihood for many households. Flooding during intense rainfalls damages farmlands, roads, and homes, while the rising heat levels contribute to health challenges and reduced productivity. These combined impacts have weakened local livelihoods, increased poverty risks, and placed greater pressure on families already facing economic and environmental stress.
