Hi everyone, I’m Jackline Adhiambo, founder of Adhiambo Heritage Farms.
In my community, flooding and waterlogging during heavy rains have become increasingly frequent, reflecting the local impacts of climate change. These floods damage roads and drainage systems, disrupt daily life, and increase health risks like mosquito-borne diseases. Small businesses and farms often suffer losses, affecting livelihoods and food security.
To adapt, our community has taken steps such as clearing drains, raising home floors, installing rainwater harvesting systems, and running awareness campaigns on flood-related health risks. At Adhiambo Heritage Farms, we are also exploring climate-resilient farming techniques to protect crops and support local food supply.
I’m keen to connect with others in sustainable agriculture and climate resilience to share knowledge, build partnerships, and explore innovative solutions for our communities.
