Himachal Pradesh is increasingly experiencing forest fires, landslides, flash floods, and reduced snowfall due to climate change. Rising temperatures and prolonged dry periods have increased the frequency of forest fires. At the same time, intense and erratic rainfall during the monsoon season has led to frequent landslides and sudden flash floods. Additionally, declining and irregular snowfall in winter months is altering the natural water cycle of the region.

Hi Krishna,
Thank you for sharing some of the climate change impacts you face in your community. Unlike in my community (Abeokuta, Nigeria), we hardly experience forest fires and landslides, although occasional wildfires occur, and we do not have snow at all. Could you please share some interventions you have seen that helped adapt and mitigate these climate impacts?
